Application Process

Overview of the application process for the Master of Professional Studies in Management and Organizational Leadership Program from the Penn State Smeal College of Business.

The application for the Master of Professional Studies in Management and Organizational Leadership Program from the Penn State Smeal College of Business is now available on the Penn State Graduate School website. Applications to the program will be reviewed on a rolling basis with a first anticipated submission deadline of October 1. Subsequent application deadlines will be added throughout the academic year.

As part of a multi-step application process, prospective students will be asked to submit the following:

  • Penn State Graduate School application
  • GMAT or GRE results (can be waived upon discretion of program)
  • Admissions essay: What are your short and long term career goals and how does the MOL degree fit into them? (600 word limit). 
    • Academic Integrity: Follow academic integrity guidelines regarding plagiarism – "using someone else's words or ideas without properly giving credit." Plagiarism includes use of material from sample essays and any website. To ensure academic integrity, all essays will be confirmed through iThenticate authenticity software. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in a deny decision.
  • Resume
  • Educational transcripts
  • Video application response
  • Letters of recommendation (2): Professional recommendations preferred
  • Official English language proficiency exam scores (international candidates). Not needed if student has graduated from a U.S. bachelor's degree program.
