I chose to attend the Penn State Smeal College of Business for my master's because I wanted to have an advantage in the job market, plain and simple. With the regularity of bachelor's degrees in the world today, a master's from Smeal will give me a clear leg up on other applicants. Learning the business skills that I did not get out of my undergraduate program will create more opportunities for me to succeed.

During my undergraduate career, I received a well-rounded education in Social Data Analytics. Through the rigor of my classes and wide range of subjects covered, I feel I gained skills to tackle projects in a STEM-related career. Since I wanted a business background before entering a corporate job, I have full faith that Penn State will offer me a similar experience. The Penn State Smeal College of Business has a reputation as a prestigious business school that will equip me for future careers. I also wanted to continue my education in the same spirited and welcoming community that Penn State has offered me.

I chose Smeal for my one-year master’s program because I already knew of the high standards and high quality of programs offered by Smeal from my undergraduate studies. I already knew of the weight that having a degree from the Penn State Smeal College of Business carried when looking for jobs. I also chose Smeal in order to continue my Penn State story. I can keep all of my friends, all of my activities including the Penn State Blue Band, and stay in the same, amazing college atmosphere. Penn State has always been a part of my life since my father is an alum. Penn State is the only place I could have ever seen myself attending. It is truly my home away from home.

I chose this program because I absolutely loved my undergraduate experience at Penn State and was thrilled by the opportunity to spend another year in State College while getting a master's that will put me in a much better place to find employment. I am specifically excited to be a part of the Penn State Smeal College of Business because of its incredible reputation and for the resources it will provide when starting my job search.
